Remove the pin holding most metal watch bracelets together.
The vast majority of watches with metal bracelets are comprised of individual metal links connected with stainless steel friction pins. All that holds the pins in place is friction as they are precisely sized and shaped with a bowing which requires a special tool like this to remove them.

There are other variations of this tool but all essentially push the pin through the link so it can be removed, separating the links. Always push the pin in the direction of the arrows on the bracelet, replace the pin back into the same side hole it came out. If you have ever tried to remove a friction pin without the proper tool you know that it can be near impossible.
